Region Alert publishes daily intelligence reports on regional security, supply chain, and political risk. This page describes the editorial principles we follow as a publisher. Specific operational mechanisms (source lists, technical methodology, internal classification systems) are proprietary and not disclosed publicly.
Region Alert is editorially independent. Subscribers do not have editorial control over our coverage decisions. We do not soften coverage of a region, government, or company because a subscriber requests it, nor amplify coverage at a subscriber's request. Coverage decisions are based on operational relevance to our subscriber base and the editorial criteria below.
Every claim of fact in a Region Alert report is supported by source material that we have reviewed. Where independent corroboration is available, we confirm claims across multiple sources before assigning a higher confidence rating. Single-source claims are retained when the source is primary and credible, but flagged accordingly. We do not republish unverified social media content as fact; weak signals worth tracking are clearly labeled as such.

Sources are referenced internally; detailed source attribution is not made public for competitive reasons. Subscribers in regulated industries can request additional methodology detail under partnership agreement.
Region Alert prioritizes coverage based on three criteria: humanitarian impact (events affecting civilian safety), commodity-market relevance (events affecting tracked supply chains), and information asymmetry (events materially relevant to operating businesses, traveling personnel, or NGO field teams).
Every Region Alert report carries a named author byline. The site's primary author is Sean Hagarty, founder and editor. Where contributors participate, they are credited inline. We do not publish anonymous content.
Where Region Alert covers a market, region, or commodity in which the founder holds a personal financial position or non-trivial commercial interest, that position is disclosed inline in the relevant report. We do not accept payment, gifts, or sponsored access from subjects of our coverage.
Region Alert's operational methodology — including source lists, technical infrastructure, classification systems, and analytical processes — is proprietary and not disclosed publicly.
