Seven-Day Synopsis

Mine first
Mine-Proximate

The N-40 corridor through Chagai and Noshki is under sustained interdiction driven by a declared militant economic blockade. At Nokchah, armed men torched eight mineral bowsers on 27 July and five oil tankers on 26 July in separate incidents. At Padag Hushk Neli, attackers targeted three gas bowsers and four heavy vehicles on 26 July. At Charsar, passenger buses were fired on and a coach was hijacked on 26 and 21 July. A military convoy was ambushed at Ahmedwal on 25 July. Two courier workers were kidnapped from a delivery vehicle at Khad Kocha on 27 July with a ransom demand of 25 million rupees. The Jaffar Express from Peshawar to Quetta was halted at Jacobabad on 26 July over security threats. Approximately 400 vehicles remain stranded at the Taftan border owing to a four-month clearance backlog.

Macro Context

Port Qasim Authority granted Pakistan International Bulk Terminal Ltd rights to handle and export copper-gold commodities including Reko Diq concentrates on 24 July. The federal government approved the purchase of a bulletproof vehicle costing 95 million rupees to protect visiting Chinese officials. How we count. CONFIRMED means attacks and abductions backed by at least two independent sources at a named place on an established date. REPORTED means every distinct incident report with a named place and date. ROADS AND MOVEMENT means blockades and road-closing protests. DEVELOPING means the last 48 hours with a single source so far; about half of single-source reports never receive a second one. The corridor trend at the top is a separate, broader measure: it counts every report along the mine corridor, including single-source ones, and is compared like for like against the same measure a week earlier. An event recorded as separate ledger entries can still appear more than once until consolidation merges it.
Sourcing. Corroboration is expressed as tier and count. Individual sources are not disclosed. Militant and state casualty figures are the claims of those parties, labelled as claims and kept separate from verified tolls. Distances are approximate road-corridor kilometres from the mine site.
