We build an automated intelligence platform that ingests multilingual open sources, classifies and synthesises them with machine learning on Google Cloud, and delivers structured daily briefings to operators in high-risk regions.

Sean founded Region Alert after two experiences that made the problem concrete: standing a mile from Russian troops outside Tbilisi without knowing it, and driving his family toward the Armenian–Azerbaijani border as war broke out. Both times the information existed, in a language he could not read.

He leads product direction and the analytical design of the platform: what the system collects, how confidence is graded, and what a decision-ready briefing has to contain. He is quoted on regional risk by Nikkei Asia, Confectionery Production and LIGA.net.

David S.

Lead Developer & Architect

David leads engineering. He builds the collection, orchestration and delivery layers that turn continuous multilingual capture into a published brief on a fixed schedule, and the data plumbing that keeps every claim traceable to the document it came from.

He was previously lead developer at Search Umbrella, and is a President’s and Chairman’s Award winner at A.O. Smith for engineering excellence. His background is in secure, data-intensive applications: real-time data orchestration engines and interactive analytics dashboards in Node.js and WebSockets, and the migration of legacy enterprise software to a modern single-page architecture. He progressed from senior developer to Director of User Experience, leading development teams and product strategy.

What the team has built

17 sustained briefs across 20+ countries, running daily and weekly without a human writing the draft. Over a million records processed monthly, in 100+ languages across 75+ countries. The platform publishes on its own schedule, grades its own forward calls in public, and keeps every edition timestamped and retrievable.

Primary intelligence from the platform has been quoted by Nikkei Asia, Confectionery Production and LIGA.net. The Ivory Coast fertilizer squeeze was flagged 34 days before an industry survey confirmed it, and a roadside bomb on a mine access road in Balochistan was reported the same day, ahead of English-language coverage.

How we work

Region Alert is built as software, not as an analyst desk. The collection, classification, translation and drafting stages run automatically on Google Cloud every day across every region we cover. The team designs the system, sets the evidence standards it enforces, and reviews what it publishes. Adding a new region is a configuration change, not a hire.
